Hey there, conscious marketers! 👋

It’s Holly here. In this blog post, I'm happy to introduce you to Jules Harrison-Annear, a wonderful member of our community. She is a true inspiration and founding member of our Conscious Marketing Movement. 🤗

I had the pleasure of collaborating with Jules, and I can't wait to share her story with you. So, let's jump right in!

Jules Harrison-Annear

Can you share a fun fact about yourself?

I have hyperextension of my ligaments, which means, even at 47 I can still get my foot behind my head! And also at 47, I'm still slightly afraid of the dark...

Can you tell us about yourself and how you got started in your job or business?

I run 2 businesses (JHA Consulting and Humans At Work) and am co-founder of a third (JERICA). This is the third phase of my career in which I'm an entrepreneur, focused on celebrating unique and diverse 'humanness' and integrating ethical business with environmental protection and social equity. I am the host of a global podcast called Humans At Work.

My decisions to set up JHA Consulting and start the Humans At Work podcast came during a low period in my life when I was burnt out from a large programme I'd led. I wanted to take more control of the balance in my life, the role that work played in my wellbeing, and extend the reach of my personal voice and thought leadership potential.

How does your work make a positive impact on others?

Through JHA Consulting, we aim to bring bespoke and ethical advice to organisations who need to shift their operating models and organisational designs to be more sustainable in the long term.

Through the Humans At Work podcast and blogs, we aim to showcase the incredible work that people around the world are doing to be effective change makers and have positive social and environmental impacts. This helps inspire others to do the same.

Jerica is in the start-up phase, but aims to have a positive impact on people with visible and invisible disabilities and health conditions, supporting them to experience reinvigorating holidays. The Jerica model also relies upon partnerships with local communities, supports the creation of micro-economies, and promotes the use of ethical supply chains.

What resource or discussion do you like most in the Conscious Marketing Movement?

The everyday discourse on how to more ethically, sustainably and humanly work outside the current system of marketing and selling that so corrupts all good intentions.

What motivated you to become a part of the Conscious Marketing Movement?

I was greatly affected by interviewing Claudia Guerreiro on the Humans At Work podcast, who inspired me to rethink my blind acceptance of 'how marketing works'. I fundamentally changed my approach to marketing as a result, closed down my company Facebook and Instagram accounts, and created a free option for the Humans At Work course on ethical leadership.

Jules' diverse ventures and her commitment to celebrating humanness, driving positive change, and promoting ethical practices make her an invaluable member of our community. 🌟
